IX High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change Mexico-UE

Based on the results of the VIII High-Level Dialogue, both parties are preparing the IX edition of the dialogue, to be held soon.

VIII High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change Mexico-EU.

As a result of the Dialogue, concrete opportunities for cooperation were identified and it was agreed to continue the exchange of experiences and good practices at the technical level on policies related to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation to climate change and climate financing.

The High Level Dialogue took place on June 4, 2019 in Mexico City and it aimed to strengthen and to provide content to the Mexico-EU Strategic Association with a view to signing the modernized Global Agreement between the two parties. The main issues on the multilateral climate change agenda were addressed, as well as bilateral initiatives. SEMARNAT and the European Commission's Directorate General for Climate Action (DG-CLIMA) reaffirmed their commitment to climate action and to the challenge of raising climate ambition, which appear as fundamental areas of the Mexico-EU relationship.
