EU-LAC Foundation

The Mission of Mexico to the European Union, in its capacity as Pro Tempore Presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Brussels, serves as the Board of Governors Co-Presidency of the EU-LAC Foundation during the period 2020-2021.

In May 2019, with the entry into force of its Constitutive Agreement, the EU-LAC Foundation became an international organization, strengthening its capacity as a space for dialogue and critical thought to strengthen the bi-regional association, including the field of culture, education, gender equality, youth, climate change and multilateralism, among other priority areas. Mexico deposited the ratification agreement instrument that transformed the EU-LAC Foundation into an international organization in July 2018, thus being the sixth Member of CELAC to ratify it and the seventeenth in total.
